Last Weekend

Last weekend we decided to take a drive and get out of the Salt Lake Valley. We headed up Immigration Canyon and looped around East Canyon Reservoir and into Morgan City. We stopped for lunch at Steph's Drive In. It's a little Ma and Pa burger joint that we totally recommend. I had a bacon swiss burger and Aaron had their signature Steph's Burger. Mmmmmm it was good!

After that we went to a park to stretch our legs and give Madi a break from her car seat. We took a short walk through the park and pushed Madi in a swing.

Then we got back in the car and took I84 into Ogden and then home.

Finally!

My friend Alicia and I try to get together once a month and have a girls day. Lately its been kinda hard getting our schedules to work out. We skipped June and if you get technical July. We finally followed through and got together today! We went to Subway and picked up lunch and then took Madi and Gavin to the park. Gavin is only three weeks older than Madi! I think (hope) that they are going to be great friends!

Madi and Gavin just chillin' on the blanket.
It was really hard to get them both to look at the camera!
This is Gavin. Isn't he cute?

Afterwords both babies just passed out. Life as a baby is so hard!

Camping!

Aaron, and I took Madi camping over the 24th of July weekend with my family and Aaron's sister Esther. We went over by Duschesne to Avintaquin campground. This was the first time we had ever been camping out in that area. It was a really cool, woodsy campground. I definately suggest camping there if you get the chance and you're not afraid of bears! They actually had signs up warning people of bear activity and bear traps in the immediate area! We only stayed one night but wish that we could have stayed longer.

Our friends Devin and Amber came up for the afternoon with their baby Quinn. They also brought their new little puppy Tobin with them. We don't get to see them often enough and it was fun getting together for a few hours.

This was Madi's first camping experience and she loved it! She loves being outside and was very enthralled with the camp fire. I am still amazed at how well she slept that night! She did so well that we have decided to take her camping next weekend with Aaron's family.

I can never post pictures in the order I want them in so these are pretty scrambled!

End of June/July pics

Madi holding her newly found friend, Quinn's hand. It was tons of fun getting to meet Quinn for the first time. He's such a cute baby! In this pic Quinn is 5 weeks old and Madi is 14 weeks old.

Madi and Aaron outside of the ice caves. The mosquitos were extra hungry so we ended up diving back into the car! Aaron and I took turns looking at the ice caves while the other stayed with Madi in the car.

Fathers Day weekend

I know that Dad's day was a couple of weekends ago and I'm finally getting around to posting about it! So I'm a slacker!

First off I just want to say....Happy Father's Day to Aaron, You are a great Dad!
That weekend we went to Kennecott Bingham Canyon Copper Mine Visitor's Center with Aaron's family. It's a fun place to see. Especially if you love Tonka trucks because thats what the giant house size rock mover thingy's look like!
CJ's feet after he stepped in a big puddle of mud!

One of the Tonka trucks I mentioned. I know it looks small but believe me they are HUGE!

After we left Kennecott we went over to Copperton Park and played on the playground. The park there is totally unique and even thoughj it was rainy everyone had fun. Madi didn't really seem to mind the rain!

Aaron with giving loves to Madi.

Yesterday Madi was supposed to have her 2 month check up. She's 2 and a half months old right now. The doctors office called and cancelled the appointment because they didn't have all the vaccines available. The soonest date that works for us is on the 30th! She'll be three months old....better late than never, right?

On a better note Madi has learned how to roll from her tummy to her back! I think it's cute! The funny thing is that she hasn't rolled over for Aaron yet. She also started laughing last week. It's such a cute, fun chuckle laugh.....I love it!

Here's a video clip I took today of her rolling over.....I told you she could roll over, Aaron!
